I come back knackered tonight. Tuesday evening is sepia-toned.
I am the defeated, drained collier of a Balzac novel.

I avoid thinking (the cunning ploy of the middle-aged man to forget). 

Feels like I was carrying the world on my shoulder and dropped the bloody thing.
It lies under my back, shattered.  

I take my camera. I shoot my face in the twilight of an Anglepoise lamp.

The mind leaks somewhere. Pieces of me are scattered on the bed.

I have this new lens: a 50 mm 1.8 eye of magic glass:

it has the ability of finding where the soul nestles.
